Hollywood in the early nineteen-fifties. A town full of energy, money, creativity and thousands of talented young people. Teenager Rosa Valdez lives with her filmstar mother in a luxurious pink marble house with a swimming pool shaped like a giant heart. Life for Rosa is good - too good to last. One day Rosa's mother finds that she can no longer get any work. Her name is on a blacklist of so called communists and their sympathizers.
